Anniversary Day + July 4th Fireworks
No rope drop today — sleep in. Relaxed start. This is your anniversary, take it easy.
Late Morning Arrival at EPCOT (~10:30am)
- Frozen Ever After (no height req) — the kids will love this. Hit it first, queue builds during the day
- Remy's Ratatouille Adventure (no height req) — trackless ride where you shrink to rat size. Fun for all ages
- The Seas with Nemo & Friends (no height req) — gentle ride + massive aquarium afterwards. Great cool-down
- Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana (no height req) — interactive splash/water play area. The kids will go nuts in the July heat. Plan to spend 30+ mins here and accept that everyone will get soaked
- Spaceship Earth — the iconic geodesphere ride. Gentle, educational
- Kidcot Fun Stops around World Showcase — kids collect stamps/cards from each country. Gives young kids something to engage with as you walk the World Showcase
Afternoon/Evening — World Showcase
- Walk the countries. Get a crepe in France, a margarita in Mexico (for the adults), browse the shops
- Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind (42") — Oisin can ride if interested (indoor coaster, fun, plays music). Rider Switch for Miles
- Test Track (40") — design a car and test it
Evening — July 4th Fireworks
- EPCOT has special Independence Day fireworks over the World Showcase lagoon
- Significantly less crowded than Magic Kingdom (which reaches capacity by mid-morning on July 4th)
- A memorable anniversary evening for Robert & Rachel
Why EPCOT on July 4th and not Magic Kingdom: Magic Kingdom is the most visited park on July 4th in the entire country. It can reach capacity and close to new guests by mid-morning. EPCOT still has special fireworks but with a fraction of the crowds. Much more pleasant with young kids and grandparents.
Other families: EPCOT works for everyone. Rachel's shopping-minded crew will enjoy World Showcase. Cosmic Rewind is a hit for Ella. Ray and Ann will enjoy the World Showcase pavilions at their own pace — plenty of shade, restaurants, and cultural exhibits.
